An exhibition conceived by the LOVISTAN collective, Burkard Blümlein and the resident artists of La Station.

La Station thanks the Chocheyras familly, L’atelier 960° (Carcès) and Villa Arson (Nice) for their support.

An homage to Laure Chocheyras (1992 – 2018), Par temps de rage collects works from this artist who graduated from Villa Arson (Nice) in 2017. The opening of the exhibition will be animated by events (actions, performances, concerts and DJ sets) conceived in order to recreate the « collective mystique » that used to cross Laure Chocheyras’ practice.

As underlined by Joseph Mouton, « if Laure started performance and happenings, temporarily neglecting sculpture, it is that collective and processual forms seemed to her more committed than the solitary production of sellable objects. But she kept from her prior practice a sense of drama, paradox and rough strength making her work still recognizable. [In her work] Laure criticizes work fragmented, isolated and managed by our societies. (…) The revolt, the irreconcilable in human conflicts, the feminist claims, this is what carries (…) this poetic and rough art, often skillful at excluding the watcher it includes – and vice-versa. »

Scenographed around the withdrawal from the work space of the Chochy Foundry Company, the exhibition will be inhabited by archive images, action as well as sculptures, some of which will be opened up and revealed during the opening.
