Born in 1990, lives and works in Marseille.

Jean-Baptiste Janisset is a French artist living in Marseille. A graduate of the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Nantes, he has already shown his work in Japan, Benin, Germany, Algeria and Denmark, and has taken part in events in Paris such as the Prix de la Fondation Emerige, the Salon Jeune Création and the Salon de Montrouge. In 2020, he will be showing a solo show at the Atelier Chiffonnier in Dijon, at the Galerie Alain Gutharc (Paris) and a group show at the MRAC Sérignan curated by Charlotte Cosson and Emmanuelle Luciani. In 2021, he was invited to take part in the group show Possédé.e.s at Mo.Co Montpellier, curated by Vincent Honoré. As part of Manifesta 13, he took part in the Anima Mundi group show at Abbaye Sainte-Victor, curated by Emmanuelle Luciani, and also installed the sculpture Sourire aux anges du Frioul on Frioul Island as part of the PAC Provence Art Contemporain. Engaged in a practice of sculpture after moulding, he restores forms by staging them in environments that give them a sacred aura. He shapes metal, plaster and light, cherishing alloys in a form of syncretism.
